Jay the owner of PDX Gem and Coin Company LLC began his business as many people do, as just a hobby. Throughout his childhood, his Grandfather would often take him to coin shows held at the Seattle Center arena, where he started to learn and gain the ability to identify coins that would be a good investment, or that would only be set to increase in value.
His education within the field of numismatics has established him and PDX Gem and Coin Company LLC as a knowledgeable source in evaluating coins and their values, thus allowing PDX Gem and Coin Company LLC to acquire only the best products possible for PDX Gem and Coin's client base, along with consistently having the ability to achieve the best prices for our clients at resale. In 1991, Jay and his business partner Kirk began acquiring loose AAA gemstones. They subsequently incorporated these items into the coin aspect of their business in 2001. The gemstones Kirk and Jay acquire, are of museum size and quality, which often range in size from 10 CTW all the way up to a whopping 400 CTW.
